International Disaster Management Exhibition (IDME)

15 April - 16 April

International Disaster Management Exhibition (IDME) launched in Istanbul, 2012. After the success of hosting its 5th edition in London last year, the sixth edition will be held in ExCeL London 15th-16th April 2020.

IDME provides a platform for the world’s disaster management and response community through a mix of session formats, workshops, live demonstrations and training courses to enable a profound exchange of science policy and practice.

IDME is a major-scale exhibition that showcases special equipment, technologies and services for disaster prevention, response and recovery.

The two-day, free-to-attend event showcases specialist equipment, technology and services for disaster prevention, and response and recovery. The aim of IDME is to make responders tasks possible and easier by finding solutions and supporting the aftermath of man-made crises and natural disasters.

With over 5,000 visitors from governments, aid agencies, search and rescue teams, emergency response professionals, and NGOs expected, it’s the perfect opportunity to exchange science, policy and the best practices. There’s also a series of workshops and programmes, featuring industry experts, for visitors to improve their skills in the sector.

IDME runs along with a portfolio of events, including World Humanitarian Forum, and Aid&Trade and Emergency Show.

Role of Logistics within the Disaster Management Industry

Logistics is central to disaster relief operations. It serves as a bridge between disaster preparedness and response, procurement and distribution. Effectiveness and speed of response are crucial qualities necessary for major humanitarian programs. Logistics represents one of the most involved and resourced parts of the relief effort.

Technology and advanced logistics tools are rapidly improving. Transportation efficiency and capacity and the disaster management sector is recognising the value of these tried-and-trusted solutions, particularly across route planning and optimisation, driver safety and performance, vehicle health management, and improved communication.

With a specialist foothold across Government, NGOs, aid agencies and emergency response teams, Microlise will present at IDME the Health Usage Monitoring System (HUMS), a modified commercial off-the-shelf product, which supports rapid and flexible planning, the visibility and safety of drivers and real-time monitoring of fleets.

Logistics will be high on the agenda of key procurement professionals from the disaster recovery, response and resilience sector, looking to source new products and technologies at the International Disaster Management Exhibition on 15-16 April 2020 at ExCeL London.

International Disaster Management Exhibition will allow you to showcase new technologies, connect with the peers and discover the industry demands.
